The supply of homes for sale in North Texas is at

The supply of homes for sale in North Texas is at the lowest level in more than 20 years.

“I believe we will see the highest appreciation rate for homes in 2013 that we have seen in over 30 years,” said David Brown, who heads the Dallas office of housing analyst Metrostudy Inc.

“I won’t be surprised if the home price indexes reflect higher than a 10 percent increase by the end of this year, as long as inventory remains as low as it has been,” Brown said.

“I expect to see the appreciation rates increase throughout the year.”
